The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held on Monday, the 13th instant. Present—The Chairman aad all the members. A latter was read from the West JEyreton Road Board, agreeiug o raise the side ef tbe boundary road tojprevent water flowing down the tram road. From five latopayers, asking t&e Chairman to call a meeting to consider the question of what rate should bo struck. The Chairman said that ho had replied to the petitioners that it would be impossible to do with anything less than a fall rate owing to the amounts required tor charitable aid. the maintenance of hospitals, and White's bridge. ; Owing to the indisposition ef tbu Chairman, Mr Mbdorato agreed to represent the Board at the meeting to be beidat Kanliorare White's bridge. Mr Gallettly moved, "That in tho opinion of this Board this district derives very little, if any, benefit from White's bridge, all our traffic both passenger and goods, using the railway j and that the. fairest way to . maintain the bridge would be by tolls." Seoonded by Mr McLochlln, And carried. Correspondence was read from the Vaudeville and Kangiera Boad Board, enclosing cheque for £17 Ss 3d, being half cost of work done on tbe bonndary rotd from January 12th, 1880, to November Bth, 1860, and asking for an explanation ot tbe items for 1883 *nd 1884. The Cleck to forward the information required. The following tenders were accepted—For fords on Ashley road. James Atkinson, £219»Cdi ford on MoCullough'a road, William Brown, £1 8a; widening Cemetery road. John Garting, £4 j dog collars, 0. D. Scott, 7d, Bd, and 9d each, scoording to size. It was resolved to get 100 gorse notices printed, and give all owners of land allowing it to grow on tbe roads opposite their sections notice to have It cleared, and at Mrs Beers had failed to clear it off Dickenson's road, to put a mab on to do the work forthwith. Account* amounting to £38 16a Sdwero passed, tbe Bats Book sigsed, and tho Btord adjourned.
