Tbe ordinary meeting of this Board was held at i tho Boad Board office od Monday, November Btb. ' Present—Messrs Barker, Brown, Duncan, and i O'H&lloran. In the absence of the Chairman, Mr Barker was voted to th} obair. Tenders were ' opened for various works, and one in each cole < accepted. M- P. Brady saw the Board relative to ; storm water flooding hia land adjoining the gravel reserve, Okuku Bridge rood. The Clerk to inspect and report to the next meeting of the Board. Correspondence was read—From Mr T, B Vincent, asking the Board to: form a pieco of rood, about one chain in length, to connect the Old Mill road with the end of the new formation No. 1 section, Glentui Forest road, as the old bridge is unsafe for traffic The Clerk to reply that the Board have no funds to do tbe work asked for. From tbe Chief Surveyor re proposed road through section 32172, informing the Board that the Crown Lands Banger would inspect and report. The Clerk reported that the Ranger had inspected the locality, bnt no rep y baa yet been received as to what is to be done in the matter. From Mr B. H. Govetti enclosing copy of regulations for tbe election of members of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Mr W. C. Nicholls was appointed to represent the Board at the election of members on November 24th. From Mr Myles Campbell, drawing attention to tbe spread of gorse on to White Book road, also requesting the Board to instruct the ranger to visit fhe locality occasionally to take stray cattle off >Ac roods. He also requests'! that the road leading* through Mr Morten's block be opened up, so as to give access to the' run above Mr Morton's bind. As Mr Morten Is fencing bis land, no access will be-got to that part ot the run unless the rood is opened up. Re gorse, the Clerk was instructed to get parties who are liable to clear the same without delay. To draw tha attention of the ranger to cattle depasturing on tbe roods. Be opening up the rood through Mr Morten's land, owing to the want ot funds the Board is unable to comply with the request. The Clerk's report was read and eon* sidered. Bsspeoting Mr Armstrong's action in fencing across the new formation of Terrace road, it was resolved that ths Chairman be requested to take steps to get Mr Armstrong to remove the obstruction of the road, and to comply with the conditions entered into with the Board, September sth, 1884. Ths Clerk was instructed to writs
to Mr Armstrong with reference to tbe above matter. It was decided that the Beard obtain information whan the Minister of Lands will be in Canterbury, and interview bfan respecting certain matters conneoted with bis deportment in tbe district. Mr Bennetts'application re culvert on Chapel rood, Deferred, owing to the wast of funds. Mr P. Duncan's application re shingling Duncan's and Kennedy's roads. It wa* decided that the tussocks and stones be cleared off the centre of Duncan's road, and tbe sharp angle' taken off at ths junction with Chapel road. Shingling Kennedy's road deferred. AccoDnts amounting to £24514s 7d were passed for paymen) and the Board adjourned.
