A NEW DEPARTURE IN WEDDINGS.
There was an unusually large congregation the other day at St. Margaret's, Westminster, which was tastefully decorated, and the centre aisle lined with men of the Life Guards, on the occasion of the marriage of Mr H. Gerard Leigh with Mies Lindsay Antrobus, who was given away by her father. The effect of the service was considerably marred by the clergy and choir not meeting the bride at the west end, and the stalls being occupied by guests, while the choristers were relegated to a Bide gallery. The B»v..T. H. B. Blundell, assisted by the Archdeacon of Westminster and the Eev. Dr. Bice, officiated. The bride wore an exquisitely fitting dress of plain white satin, somewhat o< a Vandyke design, with partially open bodice and full skirt, the train being borne by two little pages, who were the cynosure of all eyes, in their white silk cloaks. Mr Leigh, a brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. There were no bridesmaid?, but there were in the church a large number of poor girls belonging to t&e Girls' Club of St. Jude'e, Commercial road, where the bride has worked. The bells, unfortunately, could not ring, owing to the Abbey service. Mrs Antrobos had a reception at 65 Eaton square, and the newly married pair went on a yachting excursion in the Southern seas.
