It is believed that Mr Stanhope's despatches on the New Hebrides parleys disclose an impression that France is unwilling to give a written contract to evacuate thoee islands. A Scotch syndicate is completing the purchase of Paries' agricultural property at Jamberoo (N.S.W ) for £20,000. A Company is being formed, with a capital of £100,000, for the purpose of purchasing Fall's Mine, at Diamond Hills, Victoria. [F—it) I_B'a TELEGRiMS.j Keceived December 16th, 10.30 p.m. London, December 15. Mr Stanhope, Secretary for the Colonies, has summoned a meeting of the Agents-General for to-morrow. Beeeived December 17th, 1.30 a._u. London, December 15. Mr Boeisto, one of the Victorian Commissioners to the Colonial and Indian Exhibition, was entertained at a banquet at St. George's Club last night. Sir Graham Barry, who wat present, eulogised the services of Mr Bob—to ia connection with the Exhibition. Mr Boeiato, in replying to the toast of his health, declared that Victoria had responded to the utmost extent to the invitation to contribute to the Exhibition. He expressed a hope that the conference which would shortly be held for the purpose of discussing the defences would lay the foundation of Imperial Federation. Sir F. Cnnliffe Owen made a speeeb, in which he warmly praised the services rendered to the Exhibition by Messrs Bosisto and James Thompson.
