Mr M_<saxa—a moved— •*That "the Chairman be requested to transmit the requisition to the Hon. the Defence Minister, through the officer commanding the district, asking him to be good enough to reply as early as possible whether the Government would-ocept the services of theCorps.*" Mr McDavrPT seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. The meeting was then adjourned until Wednesday next at 7-30 pan., at the City Council Chambers, after a hearty vote of thanks to the Chairman, and to his Worship tae Mayor, for his kindness in placing the room at the disposal of the promoters. These votes were carried by acclamation.
