It decided that the objection in respeot to the voting of aliens and infants could not be supported. Unfortunately, Mr Wells was not present, having undertaken to conduct the opening services of Merivale Church organ. Mr Knox kindly oonsented to oondoot, and waa present to do so, feat at there mu£no aooompanyiet forthcoming, the members left one by one. Regret was expressed that proper arrangements were not made, in the absence of Mr Wells, as many members came from a long dietanee, and felt much disappointed. Good Tbkfzaby.—A highly suoceisfnl entertainment in aid of the Pride of Knightstown Lodge of Good Templars was held in St. Matthew's schoolroom on Monday even* ing. There was a large attendance, and the chair waa occupied by Mr 0. M. Gray, P.D.D.G.W.O.T. Songs were contributed by Mrs Gray, Mrs Amos, Miss Hark, Mias Amoi, Miss Dixes, Messrs 0. Hill, T. Heath, and J. Francis; trios and duets by Messrs Moor, Broughton, and Cooper; a bone solo by Mr Crocker; recitations by Mr Tomlinson and Master Bntterfleld; a reading by the Bey. Mr Mortimer; and an address by Mr Gray. The accompaniments were played by Mies Moody ana the Bey. J. Bowman ; and the entertainment concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

A.O.F. The ordinary meeting of the Court Star of Canterbury wai held on Monday evening, in the Foresters' Hall. Dr. Ifaobean Stewart was admitted as an honorary member. A Tery flattering letter wm read from Court Enterprise, of Donedin, m Bro.; Barrow, P. 0.8., of that Court, and advising the 0.8. that a> framed P.C.E. certificate had been forwarded for pietentaturn to the viiiting brother.
