THE ENGLISHMEN V. THE COMBINED ELEVEN.

The return cricket match between Shaw's English team and a Combined Eleven, of New South Wales and Victoria (not an eleven of New South Wales as telegraphed yesterday) was resumed today. The Combined team continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 197 as against 133 of the Eagliehmen. The full scores are as follows:— Combined Tbah. Massie ... 50 Evans - - • -11 Blackham ... 40 Horan- . . . 4 McDonnell ... 14 Murdoch - - - 10 Palmer - - .16 Garret* ... 4 Jones .... 37 Coulthard ... 6 Boyle .... 0 Total . . - - 197 The bowling of the Englishmen was dead on the wicket, and the fielding excellent. The attendance at the match was large, And the weather very fine. The Englishmen have gone in for their second innings. February 19. In the evening when stumps were drawn for the day the Englishmen in their second innings had scored eight rune withont the loss of a wicket.
