An unexpected episode occurred at the Waimea nomination to-day. It was expected tbat Mr Sheppard would be returned unopposed, but Messrs Curtis and Acton Adams, candidates for the city, where the election takes place tomorrow, were proposed without their knowledge. QUEEN3TOWN, September 5. At tho nomination for the Wakatipu, Messrs H. W. Finn, W. Mason, and H. Manders were proposed and seconded. The show of hands was :—Mason, 13; Finn, 10; Manders, 7.
