("Per Anglo-Australian Press Telegraph Agency. I LATEST FROM EUROPE. Auckland, March 11. Arrived—Rangatira from Sydney. She sailed on March 3rd. London, Feb. 28. The competition at the wool sales was extremely vigorous, and prices are very firm. 70,000 bales were sold. Wheat is languid. In copper, the prices are tending downwards. Australian is £87 to £88. There is a serious decline in tin ; Australian, £97 per ton ; sole leather, 13d to 14d ; Sydney hides, 6£d ; Melbourne, 6£d. The Duke and Duchessof Edinburgh make a public entry into London on the 12th of March, accompanied by the Queen. The Tichborne claimant has been found guilty and sentenced to fourteen years. A New South Wales Colliery Company is announced with a capital of £20,000.
General Moriornes was attacked by the Carlists near Bilboa, and repulsed with heavy losses.
