ROAD BOARDS.
; AVON. A special njeeting of the Board took place yesterday, to "consider the accounts for the year. There -were present— J. Abbott, Esq. (chairman), aud Messrs Homer and Lame. After going through the accounts, as audited by the Provincial .Auditor, the Board saw the contractor for shingling Grant's road, regarding the deficiency in the quantity of shinglejhe was patting on. After considering a report on the subject from Mr F. Pavit't, who stated that he considered there was a deficiency in the quantity to the extent of two and a-half yards to the chain, the Board decided that the contractor be informed that he make up thy deficiency before he is entitled to payment, and that he bereqnired to fulfil his contract on the remainder of the road ; but that before stackingttte gavel the loads be left shot, and afterwards stacked when directed to do so. The Board directed fresh tenders to be called for for the construction of No. 2 contract of the new main drain. , The Board then adjourned till Tuesday, January 2,1872.
