POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Until farther notice, the "West Coast mails for Hokitika, Greymouth, and offices on the road will close at 4.30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday ; the additional service commencing on the 19th instant. Mails per Claud Hamilton, for Wellington, Picton and Nelson, will close at Christchurch at 8 am, and at Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m., on Wednesday, the 9th instant. Mails per Lord Ashlsy, for Otago and Southland, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11.30 a.m., on Friday, the 11th inst. Mails per Lady Bird, for Wellington, Napier, and Auckland, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11.30 a.m., on Saturday, the 12th inst. Mails per Airedale, for England, India, the Australian Colonies, the Mediterranean Ports, Otago and Southland, will close at Christchurch at 7 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, the 16ih inst.; and at Kaiapoi at 2 30 p.m., on Tuesday, the 15th inst. Money orders must be procured before 1 p.m., and letters for registry must be posted before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, the 15th inst. Late lettere for places beyond the colony by payment of an extra shilling stamp, and for places within the colony by payment of one extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christchurch until 9 30 am., and at liTttelton until 11 a.m., on Wednesday, the 16th inst. Mails per Phoebe, for the Northern ports of New Zealand, will close at Chrietchurch at 8 a.tn., and at Lyttelton at 11 a.m., on Thursday, the 17th inst. Mails for the Selwyn Forks, Windwhi-tle House, ard Snowdon, will close at Christchurch on Wednesdays at 7 a.m.; the return mail will close at Snowdon at 7 a.m., and at Windwhietle House at 7.45 a.m. on Thursdays. Mails for Oxford will leave Bangiora at 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Mails for the Hurunui will close at Christchurch every Monday and Wednesday at 7 a.m. Mails for Hawkswood will close at Christchurch at 7 a.m. every Monday. A post-office has been established at Addington, for which place mails will close at Christchurch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11 a.m. A post-office is established at Mr. Ford's, Selwyn Forks. A post-office ia established at Leeston, for which place mails will be forwarded via Weeden, closing at Christchurch every Monday and Wednesday, at 7 a.m. F. E. Weight, Chief Postmaster.
