mHE TOWNSHIP OF LEITHFIELD The sanitarium of Canterbury, twenty-seven miles north of Christchurch, the North Road running through tho centre of the town, with a good road to the beach which is about a-milo and a-quarter distant, and which has a fine mossy .flat running parallel with the beach about three or four chains from tho sea, (with a fine stretch of hard dry sand at low water,) " a splendid place for visitors and families" to ride or have apic-nic, and will some day become the race-course of the north. Tho township is situated within sight oi* thea c and is surrounded by a largo and rapidly improving agricultural dirtrict. Some idea of the rapidity with wliich it is advancing may be form 3d by tho fact that upwards of sixty towu sections are already Bold, that there are, besides other inhabitants, a medical practitioner, a blacksmith, a butcher, and a nursery gardener, established in tho town —that a residence for the district Engineer and buildings for Government Otßces are in the courso of erection, and that advert-ioerueats are issued for tenders for tho materials and construction of tho Church. Tho Hotel will ako be speedily enlarged for tho better accommodation of the visitors who are already repairing to this healthy spot for the benefit of their health. The prices realised at auction, by Messrn. Aikman and Wilson, ranging from £12 10s. to £22, are a good proof of tho value of tho site, being bought by parties who well know the place. A great many sections having been r.old privately since the sale by auction, tho proprietor has decided to sell the remaining sections that are hud out, all by private sale, at £12 10$. per quarter-acre. Application to bo made personally, or by letter, to Mr. John Leith, of Leithfield, &owai, "Double Corner. Jan., 27th, 1863. A Meeting of Messrs. Coker and Ell's Creditors will tako place at Mr. Gould's Offices, Colombo-street, on Tliursday 14th April, 1863, at 2 o'clock p._., for the purposo of declaring a dividend.
