“NO MONOPOLY”

Sir, —No Monopoly is apparently a he hen who enjoys the last cackle, to which he is heartily welcome after my final reply. To his supercilious attempt to sit on me and scorch an elaborate pair of borrowed pants the damage will brush of when they are dry. In spite of your correspondent’s insinuating sarcasm, and impertinent questionable personalities I still maintain that correspondents who indulge in such tactics should sign their name to them. To infer that a host of celebreties do likewise is an insulting and contemptible excuse. No Monopoly fired at me from cover. My reply is from free and open ground. I have no job to lose and no business to be in a funk about and state what I believe to be true without fear of favour. The removal of my name for a target will force No Monopoly into another funk hole to snipe at councillors who have done their best under circumstances. No Monopoly’s cynical nature delights to ignore and who lacks the instinctive sympathetic intuiton to understand.

Yours etc., HARRY SERGANT. Whakatane, October 23, 1950. This correspondence is now closed. Ed.
