WHY ALTER THE SCORE?

Sir, —As a player at the Bowling Club opening I was surprised to hear a member of a losing team give the wrong total when the score cards were collected.

When a protest was voiced and the correct score quoted he replied: “This is opening day and the scores don’t matter,” but all other scores were corectly reported. It should not be necessary to remind a bowler to- “take it” when beaten and not attempt to misrepresent the score. The score board total of 21-13 was entered on the card as 21-20. Yours etc., B. FAIR. Whakatane, October 18, 1950.
