WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDERS Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Whakatane County Council held on Tuesday the 23rd day of May, 1950, the following resolutions were passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Tuesday the 27th day of June, 1950, at 11 a.m. at the County Council Chambers, Whakalane:— “THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by Secs. 59 and 60 of The Counties’ Act, 1920, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order that the representation of the different ridings of the County of Whakatane shall be as follotvs:—Each to be represented by one Councillor—Galatea, Matata, Omataroa, Ohope, Taneatua, Waimana, Nukuhou -and Urewera. Each to be represented by two councillors—Tarawera and Rangitaiki.” “THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by Sec. 122 of The Counties’ Act, 1920, and Sec. 2 of The Counties’ Amendment Act, 1929* and with the consent of the ratepayers of that area in the Whakatane County known as the Waioho Stream Separate Rating District, as testified by a petition dated the 16th May, 1950, and signed by a majority of the ratepayers in the said area the lands comprising such area bein& fully described in the schedule appearing in the said petition—a copy of which petition and schedule appears below the minutes of this meeting and shall form part of this resolution — the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order to make and levy a separate rate of Seven Pence (7d) (6d as to repayment of capital costs and Id as to payment of annual maintenance costs) in the pound upon the unimproved yalue of all rateable property within the said Waioho Stream Separate rating district, and that such separate rate shall be an anually recurring rate during the period required in which to repay in full all moneys advanced, a replied or expended by the Council in connection with the work as set out in the said petition and shall be payable yearly on the 28th day of August in each year during <he said period.” AND NOTICE is further given that the said petition and the minutes containing a copy of the petition and schedule will be open to inspection by the public at the County Office, The Strand, Whakatane, during ordinary office hours for a period of at least twenty-one days preceding the said meeting to be held on the 27th day of June, ISSO.
