Bay Rugby Teams To Meet At Whakatane

There are to be two representative rugby matches at Whakatane this year with outside teams, the main one being the meeting between Bay of Plenty and ’ Poverty Bay at Whakatane Field on June 10. This game was originally set down for Te Puke but Poverty Bay have indicated that they will not travel further* than Whakatane. Because Rotorua is not keen on having the match the game between Bay of Plenty and Bush Districts is now to be played at To Puke on July 22. Three games are to be played in the Bay of Plenty against sub-un-ion teams by the Central Hawkes Bay Sub-Union in September. The draw for that tour is:—

September 2 v Whakatane, September 6 v Rotorua, September 9 v Tauranga.
