Waimana Garden Circle Meets At Home Of Mrs Eagle

The home of Mrs S. Eagle was the scene of the monthly gardening circle meeting of the Waimana Women’s Institute. Mrs C. Wylde presided on the absence of Mrs M. King. Mi's Eagle gave a- reading on grafting, and a general discussion on the subject followed. Members decided, after a proposal from the institute committee, to make floral tributes for institute members having birthdays each month. The competition arranged by Mrs Eagle, guessing or recognising pictures of flowers from a catalogue, was won by Mesdames Wylde and G. Stansbury. Competition results:— Modern novelty decorations, Mrs G. Hewitt 1, Mrs Wylde 2, Mrs R. Hodgson 3; flower, Mrs J. Mitchell 1, Mrs Eagle 2, Mrs Hewitt 3: vegetable, Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs N. Potter 2, Mrs Hodgson 3.
