Rowing Club Bottle And Paper Drive

The annual general clean up of bottles at Whakatane before Christmas will be. held tomorrow when the Whakatane Rowing Club holds the first bottle drive this summer. The whole of the borough, will be canvassed by collectors on trucks who will call at every home to make room for future empties. Homes in the country just outside of Whakatane will be visited also. Last year the Club held two bottle drives and these were well appreciated by most residents who went out of their way to produce all their surviving “dead marines.” Tomorrow old paper will also be collected with bottles.
