New Cathedral For Napier

Basic plans for a new Cathedral in Napier, costing at least £75,000, to replace the building destroyed by the 1331 earthquake, have been drawn and an appeal is to be launched to raise the necessary finance. This was announced to the Waiapu Diocesan Synod by the Dean of Waiapu, the Very Rev O. S. O. Gibson. As an immediate objective it is planned to raise £30,000. Tovrard that sum there is more than £2OOO in hand or promised.
