Thornton Gardening Circle Meets

The monthly meeting of the Thornton V/omen’s Institute gardening circle was. held last Thursday in Mrs W. T. Law’s garden. Mrs Arbuckle presided over a good attendance.

Mrs T. Mexted was welcomed as a new member. A competition arranged by Mrs Tooke was won by Mrs Arbuckle. A sketch in colour, “My Ideal Garden”, judged by Mrs Hitchins, was won by Mrs Arbuckle with Mrs Fisher second.

Best flower, Mrs Branch 1, Mrs McDonald 2; best vegetable, Mrs Ai’buckle 1, Mrs McDonald 2.
