Rugby Union Thanks Supporters

Appreciation of the support given rugby at Whakatane during the past season was expressed by the secretary, Mr D. O. Stewart, at the final executive meeting of the Whakatane Rugby Sub-Union. He said that the season had been very successful and a tremendous fxlip had been given the game by the Bay of Plenty-Australia match. Now that the new ground, Whakatane Field, was to be fully developed and had been proved in the past Mr Stewart said he thought that Whakatane would probably be well considered when future main games were allotted to the Bay of Plenty.
