COUNTY BUILDING CONTROL
Sir,—The move by the County Council to bring the building of farm houses under their control should, in my opinion, be strongly resented by those who elected the councillors ' Farmer councillors should be the first to resist any further bureaucratic encroachment on the little freedom we have left. While this type of control is essential in built up areas, I can see few really valid reasons for their extension into purely farming districts. They can only be a burden to us and will sorely restrict initiative. The suggested extension of their powers to farm buildings is, in my opinion, purely bureaucracy gone rampant. Both these measures should be strongly opposed. ■Yours etc., R. W. DUNNING.
