Coming-Of-Age Of Te Teko Girl

A coming-of-age party was held in the Otakiri Hall on Saturday night for Marjorie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Lyon, Te Teko. The guests, who were received 1 by her parents, were estimated in the vicinity of 180. The guest of the evening looked very attractive in a pastel blue marquisette evening dress. The hall was nicely decorated and the Otakiri orchestra supplied excellent music for dancing. A delightful supper was served -after a game which provided plenty of excite- ’ ment. j Mr Massey made a speech in which his humour caused bursts of I laughter following which Mr Lyon ! presented the key to his daughter, who replied suitably. ‘ Many beautiful presents were on display. I A happy evening concluded with | the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
