POPULAR DANCE RUN COUNTRY PATRONS SUPPORT The largest crowd that the Caledonian Hall has held lor quite some time turned out on Wednesday evening lor the Trained Nurses Annual dance. From an early hour the hall was well filled } and as the evening progressed, it became more and more so till in the end there was no room left for any doubt whatsoever that the dance was one of the best and most successful run in the district for some time past. A notable feature was tile number of country patrons present who supported the function in record manner, some of them coining in long distances to be present. The hall which was decorated with flags round the walls, offset by clusters of wattle a& footlights the supplied a good setting for the merry throng. The Premier Band supplied the music while Dr. Dawson popularly filled 'the position of M.C. Dances were well varied, each and every one attracting almost all of the laige crowd on to the lloor. A Monte Carlo was won by Thco Love and Miss Rowie Woods. Supper was; served in expert fashion by the hospital staff, and consisted of tea and cakes, the tea particularly being more than welcomed by tlie dancers who j in general received it as if they had been wandering in the Sahara for a week. Dancing closed at a late houi\ and it is reported that despite the. fact that a large number of trained nurses, the matron and two doctors were present, none found, it necessary to render professional service,
