MILITARY WEDDING
BULLED—WILSON
The Church of the Assumption, Gnehunga was the scenc of a pretty wedding on June when Monica Evlyn only daughter of Mr , and Mrs W. G. of Te Papapa, was wedded to Driver Merlyne Ira Desmond, younger son of Mrs F. B. O'Kane of Nukuhou North and the late "Mr A. G. Bulled. The Rev. Monsignot Gahill officiated and during the service; "Ave Maria" was sung by Miss Eileen Crot.ty. The bride who was given 'away by her elder wore a gown of white, georgette and lace ending in a graceful train. A coronet of azaleas held in place her long veil of embroidered net and her shower bouquet was of white roses narcissi, stock and maiden hair fern. A frock of white marocain with a jul'iet" cap held by a spray of rcid anemones was worn by the bridesmaid Miss Barbara Jackson. Her '9 bouquet was of gerbera and anemones . The little llower girl Maureen '9 McGuire Avore a similar anklelength frock of white silk and a wreath of red anemones in her hair. The bridegroom and best raan ( Corporal Barney Malone returned overseas) were in uniform. At the conclusion of the ceremony the young couple Avere met at the door of the church, by SergeantMa jor M. Fraser and a number of men from the bridegroom's camp. At the reception Avhich was held at the "Little Dutch Mill'' Kararvgahapc Road, the guests Avere received by the bride's motlier j who wore a light, blue ensemble with pink shoulder spray. She was as-< sisted by tfle bridegroom's mother in a navy blue costume and shoulder spray of rose buds. The usual toasts were honoured. The duties of toastmaster were in the capable hands of Lance-Corporal (Cappy) Rix Driver Weeks replying to the toast' of. the bridegroom's parents. During the reception Miss E. Crotty sang "Love Is All" and Corporal Malone sang "I'll Walk Be,side You." L/Corporal Rix entertained Avith several humorous items. The bride's travelling frock and coat were of poAvder blue with black accessories and hat to match.
