London, March 16

The new Canadian High Commissioner to Great Britain, Mr L. D. Wilgress. reached London today. Mr Wilgress, who has been Canadian Minister to Switzerland during the prist few years, told a diplomatic correspondent that the prospect of living again in a British country was very pleasant. He said the most immediate problem he would,have to deal with would probably involve trade between Canada and the United Kingdom. There would also be other cmestions arising from the close association of the British Commonwealth—an association, he said, which served as the best example to other countries of what international co-operation could do for the benefit of all. He sooke of the encouraging reports he had received of Great Britain's recovery effort. The British people, he said, had a capacity for overcoming adversity. It had stood them in good stead in the past and would continue to do so in the future. ______
