New School System Of fee Paying Introduced

Designed To Lessen Parents' Expenses

English Public Schools'

Move

Leading English public schools have started a new system of fee paying to save money for taxburdened parents. As soon as the parent'enters his son for the school he is given a circular explaining that, if he likes, he may pay down a lump sum for the child's education.

This wiU be invested by the school over a period of years, thus savirg the parents money and tax.

The Bursar of the Nautical College, Pangbourne, Berkshire, told the Overseas Mail: "We started this scheme—as did Rugby, Wellington, and Bradfield colleges—to assist the parents with the expense of their sons' educations. "It saves them in the end a few hundred pounds. "Should the boy die, be expelled, or leave for any purpcse, we refund the capital sum, or what remains of that sum after the boy has been there a number of terms." Parents could pay for a boy in a lump sum from the age of six months to the age when he enters the college—at 13A. The amount varies with the age of the child.
