SUCCESS OF RAIDING PARTY FROM BELLONA (PA.) Wellington, March 14. A message from the cruiser Belkna at Akaroa today states that the ‘Kaniere’s logbook was captured by a boarding party from the Bellona this morning. Two of the Kaniere’s tten were also whisked away as cantives, Reprisals were unavailing, instead £ retrieving their logbook, the Kanicre m en found a fire hose turned full on them. Later they were caught and handcuffed to one °t the Bellona’s turret ladders. , These activities this morning v 'ere to test the efficiency and plasticity of all departments before the New Zealand naval souadron puts to sea tomorrow for the most uuportant phase of its two weeks’ exercises. Today’s exercises pvovicled a striking contrast to the happy sporting atmosnhere of the squadron’s regatta, held on Akaroa harbour during the last two days.
