The Rovers forwards were seen to advantage in attack with short passing movements and often over-keenness of the forwards spoiled chances of scoring. . Anson, the young South African player, played a good game at lefthalf. His stick work and tackling is improving. Smith, at left-back, is also a player of promise. The half-time score was 2-0 in favour of Tatanui. she second half showed the game at a faster pace. Marshall, insideright, took advantage of good passes and was unfortunate in not scoring. Palmer kept the forwards moving, distributing the ball freely, the Rovers forwards showing to advantage. Warner, at right-half, was solid. The Lcckver brothers played better than usual and Sykes showed he is a good goalkeeper, although Tatanui’s centre got through to score with a snap goal, making ms total three goals. Near the finish the inside winger scored a spectacular goal and Randle slipped m tackling. The match finished with the score'. Tatanui 4, Rovers 0. The second match True Blues v. Te Archa was a good game,, high scoring being a feature of the match. Pinkerton in the pivot position was kept busv watching th n fast- moving centre-forward. Eastwood, a Waikato representative having played against the Australian touring team at. Hamilton recently. _ He scored five goals and credit is due to him for his clever stickwork and the way he nitwitted the defence. Giles was not available for True Blues and the back line was weakened. Walton got the only goal for True Blues. Lennox worked hard in the forwards, but was well marked by the Te Aroha backs. The forward line could have combined better. Te Aroha’s half line was g on d and continually held the True Blue forwards. The final score was 8-1 in favour of Te Aroha. Women’s Games The Kowhai v. Pahinga fixture proved an evenly-contested game. Kowhai was first to score. The veteran Tauranga representative player, C. Smith, and Smith junior proved a fine combination on the heavy ground. J. Pittams was a safe custodian behind the backs. P. Green scored for Kowhai and the inside forward Parkinson with o. 13-year-old player on the wing worked well together, both having a try at scoring. Parkinson’s effort deserved a better fate, the shot missing the goal by a foot from a rising ball. Mrs Desmond played a consistent game. The final score was one goal each. The Te Pahinga team beat Te Aroha in the Jubilee Cup in the morning. Kowhai v. Te Aroha

Green combined well at the inside position. Green scoring cne goal in the first half. Te Aroha scored a few minutes after from a good effort by their centre forward. The half-time score was even, one goal each. The second half started very well for Te Aroha. Mid-field play was good and the halves from Tauranga continually repelled attacks.
