JAPANESE PLAN TO KILL STALIN

Washington, Sept. 22. The Japanese Ambassador in Berlin, General Oshima, early in 1939, secretly informed Himmler of a Japanese plot to assassinate Generalissimo Stalin,, according* to the latest United States Government document in the series "Nazi Conspiracy and Aggression." Himmler conferred with Oshima on January 31, 193 9, regarding longrange Japanese-German espionage projects aimed at Russia's disintegration so as to help in,, the event of war. Himmler reported that Oshima told him he had succeeded in sending ten Russians armed with bombs across the Caucasian frontier to kill Generalissimo Stalin. Several other Russians who had been sent across the frontier had been shot.
