CONFIRMATION EXPECTED New York, Jan. 14. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that, although opponents are still hopeful enough that the Democrats can be swung from the Administration to block Mr Flynn's confirmation in the appointment of Minister to Australia and Ambassador in the South-west Pacific, the indications to-night are that Mr Flynn will be successful when the appointment reaches the Senate. The Herald-Tribune says most political observers are willing to bet the committee will vote for confirmation of the appointment.
