MANY FIRES STARTED ANOTHER ATTACK ON PORT MORESBY GENERAL BRETT'S TRIBUTE TO AIRMEN London, April 22. Attacks on the enemy in the New Guinea area continue and Allied Air Forces have made a further raid on Rabaul. Many large fires were left burning when our bombers withdrew. Yesterday morning eight Japanese bombers and some fighters made an attack on Port Moresby. Our fighters engaged the enemy and four enemy combat machines were shot down. General Brett, who is in command of the Allied Air Forces in Australia, paid a tribute to the work which they are doing. "The boys up north," said General Brett, "are doing an exceedingly fine job. ' They are getting more confidence now. Australia is devloping splendidly as. a base for long-range operations against the enemy."
