SPIRIT OF FRANCE

YUGOSLAV GUERILLA LEADER'S APPEAL TRADITIONS OF FREEDOM London, April 19 General Mikhailovitch. commander of the Yugoslav guerilla forces, appealed to Petain to give the signal awaited by all depressed people in Europe from the people of France to raise the banner of freedom which the French people for so many centuries have waved at the head of the nations of Europe. General Mikhailovitch, says British Official Wireless, added: "If, however, you have abandoned forever the idea of a new victory for France over her enemies, let me then address this appeal to that still unknown Marshal of France, who will emerge from the darkness of the present day, inspired by the great spirit of France."
