Kelson, slated to-day that if the coal-mine owners were determined to resist the miners’ legitimate claims, then a national crisis appeared to he inevit--1 able. S It was stated that the owners were determined not to concede the miners’ demands, and did not believe that the federation would call a strike throughout the Commonwealth. if for no other reason than ) its inability to finance it. j The miners’ claims include: i A 30-hour week of five six-hour | days. j Pensions of £ 2 a week for aged j miners. Holidays on full pay. i Improved safety provisions in 1 mines.
