WOMEN’S DIVISION
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers Union was held in the Presbyterian Hall on the 3rd inst, there being a good attendance. Mrs Christian presided. Owing to a misunderstanding, a full report of the last annual meeting was not presented. It was decided to accept the short report prepared and to deal with the full account at a later meeting. The, balance-sheet was read and adopted, showing a sound position. A resume of the year’s work was given by the retiring President, also a short report from the Secretay. Mrs McKenna, on behalf of the Hospital Visiting Committee, presented an account of the work done, and money expended. She also thanked her committee for their enthusiastic support in this humanitarian work, which was much appreciated by the country patients. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs McKenna; Vice-Presi-dents, Mesdames Christian, Meharry and Hubert; Secretary, Mrs White; Competition Secretaries, Mesdames Blomquist and Johnston; Sales Table, Mrs Barnes; Judge for Flower Competitions, Mrs Newsham; Committee, Mesdames Robins and London; Roll-Call Secretary, Mrs Robins; Press Reporter, Mrs Hardwick: Delegates to Women’s Representative Committee, Mesdames McKenna and Meharry; Delegates to Provincial Council, Mesdames Christian and Johnston: Delegates to Farmers’ Union, Mesdames White and Hubert. Mrs London won the annual prize presented for the greatest number of points gained during the year in the flower competitions.
