RETURNED SOLDIERS
ANNUAL RE-UNIOX AND ANZAC DAY SERVICE The Returned Soldiers’ annual reunion will be held in the Civic Theatre on Saturday evening. Several outside Associations have accepted the invitation to be represented. The guest of the evening will be Mr S. P. Day, District Vice-President of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. On Anzac Day a number of the Tauranga members, also the Tauranga Pipe Band, will attend the morning service at ;Te Puke. Cars and a ’bus will leave First Avenue at 9.30 a.m. The afternoon service at Tauranga will be held in the Town Hall at 2.15. The parade will assemble in Devonport Road at First Avenue and will move off at 1.45, headed by the Municipal Band. After the Town Hall service, the parade will fall in and march to the Memorial Gates at the Domain, where the returned soldiers and others will place wreaths on the gates. The Tauranga Pipe Band will play “Flowers of the Forest.” This will be followed by the “Last Post” and the “Reveille.” At the Town Hall serffee Mr S. P. Day will give the address, the subject being, ‘AVhat a Returned' Soldier Remembers on Anzac Day.” The Association has accepted the invitation of the Rev. J. Smyth to attend a special service in the Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening at 7. Members are requested to assemble at the church. - Poppy Day will be held on Saturday, and sellers will be active throughout the streets of the borough on that day.
