The Regent. Perhaps the most ambitious and costly spectacle that Hollywood has ever attempted, J’arjumiiinfs “The Lives of a Bengal Lancer,” has at last been screened and comes to-morrow to the Regent Theatre after four years of unremitting effort in its production. Featuring . Gary Cooper, Franehot Tone, Richard Cromwell and Sir Guy Standing in the principal roles, “The Lives of a Ilehgal- Lancer” is a stirring, colourful and action-rammed story of the exploits and adventures of England's Colonial soldiers in India. The author, Francis Yeats-Brown, was himself an officer of the Lancers( while Aehmed Abdullah, Him adapter, > ami four* British army officers served as technical advisers during the production of the Him. The story o& “The Lives of a Bengal Lancer” is that of the extraordinary bravery, discipline and skill that has enabled a mere handful of English officers to hold sway over the teeming millions of . India. Cooper and Tone* are officers of the 41st Bengal Lgncers, commanded by Sir Guy. .Standing, when -.Sir Guy’s sou, played by Richard Cromwell, arrives as a raw recruit'. Directed by Henry Hathaway, “The Lives of a Bengal Lancer” has had more than four thousand players In its cast during the four years of production. Monte Blue, Douglas Gnmhrille, Kathleen Burke, C. Aubrey Smith, Colin Tap ley and Akim Tamlroff appear in the supporting cast.

Town Hall “Say It With Miiklc” is tilt* slogan of tTiiiversal’s . “Lots of Fun,” the,, unusual musical comedy-drama starring ’■Edmund Lowe will make its how at the Town Hall Theatre to-morrow. The production featuring six songs, has become famous already as a vehicle for the talents of 30 radio, screen and stage stars. One of the outstanding musical performers is the gold-en-voiced, golden-haired Ruth Etting, who sings “Talking to Myself,” written by ConCourad and Herb Magidson, and "To-mor-row. Who Cares?” written by Charles Tobias and Murray Meuclier. Phil Baker, famous for his comedy ami his accordeon, sings with the three famous Downey Sisters. Ethel Waters, Internationally known coloured singer, .June Knight, captivating blonde Universal contract player, Gloria Stuart, and the famous Gene Austin sing catchy melodies and the Beale Street Boys, a quartette, have fun with “Trivers Livers, I' Love You,” and “1 Ain’t Gonna Sin No More."’ One Exciting Adventure,’’ which brings Biunie Barnes, the glamorous new star, to the screen in her second Universal production, will be shown for the* first time at the Town Hall-theatre starting to-mor-row., played . against a gay continental background, the picture is regarded as one of the most thrilling and sparkling offerings of the year. With Miss Barnes, who won world-wide acclaim with her performances in “Henry VIII,” and with Douglas Fairbanks in “The Private Life of Don Juan,” is a brilliant cast headed by Neil Hamilton and Paul Cavanagh. The story is that of the most glamorous diamond thief in- Europe, who is followed over half, the world by. a man she refuses to meet but who pays her bills wherever she goes.
