HOUSING CURIOS
SUGGESTION BY MR (’LINKARU. A letter was read at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Borough Council from Mr C. T. Ciinksrd, ap- - pealing to the Council to take the initiative in making suitable housing and supervision available for curios, works of art, natural history specimens, and the like, as outlined in a letter already published, Cr Scantlebury moved—That the letter be referred to the Library Committee to report upon. Or Law thought the suggestion of Mr Clinkard was a good one. Cr Whiting said a number of curios were kept in the room in the Town Hall that was occupied by theWestern Bay of Plenty Returned Soldiers’ Association. Cr Newsham suggested that the matter might be referred to a Conrmlttee comprising the Mayor and Cre Whiting and Law, and it was decided to alter the motion accordingly. The Mayor, Mr Tanks, thought the Council could receive curios and then consider the question of a place for housing them. The motion was seconded by Cr Scantlebury and carried.
