Dalgety's stud and racing stock, Spoon, two yrs, by Tea Tray—Warlove, was sob 1 for 750gns to Mr G. P. Payne. The bay mare Snotlight, nine years, went

for 425gns to Wright, Stephenson a? agents. The bay mare Warlove, 13 years, went for 330gns to Mr G. G. Holmes, and the brown mare Limelight, 11 years, went for 350gns to Mr L. Storry. The mare Paperchase, six years, was sold for 300gns to Mr J. Porter, and the gelding Starshooter, four years, went for £3OO to Mr J. I Bundy. The filly The Geisha, two years, was sold for 300gns to Mr T. Seaton. of Timaru, and the gelding Cockadoodle went for Z2sgns to M' A. J. Tutton. The mare Starmist, aged with foal and in foal, was bought for 275gns by Mr R. J. McKenzie. NOTES. One of the outstanding yearlings of the forthcoming sales, says a Sydney exchange, will be the Heroic colt from the New Zealand mare Pot Pourri (Bezonian— Crimson Rose) The colt was bred by Mr J. F. Foster, and is a credit to his young' sire. He shows a lot of the Valais quality, bearing a strong likeness as a young horse to Valamita. The jumper King's Guard fell and broke his neck while contesting the Autumn Steeplechase at Ellerslie. King's Guard, who, was nine years old, won £4552 in stakes for R. Hannon. Last July he won the Wellington Steeplechase, and at the last summer meeting at Ellerslie he won three hurdle races and was second in the fourth, in which he carried the steadier of 12.7. After that he raced on the flat and won the Matamata Hack Cup.
