WESTFIELD MARKET. Auckland, April 23 Messrs A. Buckland report that today at Westfield they penned 348 head of cattle, comprising 218 steers and 130 cows and heifers. The quality was equal to last Tuesday’s market, but competition was not keen, prices being & trifle easier. Extra choice ox sold to 37s per 1001 b; choice and prime 34s to 3 6s; secondary and plain, 32s to 33/6; prime young cow and heifer beef 30s to 335: secondary 23s to 295. Extra heavy prime steers ranged In price from £l4 15s to £ls ss; heavy, £l4 to £l4 12/6; lighter, £l3 to £l3 17/6; light, £ll 10s to £l2 17/6; small and unfinished, £8 to £ll 7/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO 10s to £ll ss; heavy, £9 to £lO 7/6; lighter, £7 to £8 10s; other killable cows, £4 to £6 17/6.
