STRATFORD RAILWAY.

New Plymouth, April 22 Reference to the Stratford Main Trunk railway was made by the MinTster of Public Works, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, when a deputation from the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce requested that the Government push ahead with the work and complete it within two years. It had been stated that the work would be finished in two years, provided sufficient money was available. The Minister, in reply, said the country undoubtedly was facing a serious time financially, but he knew of no attempt to curtail work on the Stratford line, although he could uot at present give figures definitely.
