A quantity of opium was discovered. Jail no opium smoking pipes. Ah Dong, and another Chinese, Moi You Fung, were arrested? and at 'J.3O p.m. were brought before Messrs C. Whiling and L. R. W ilkinson, J.l’s. Mr Tudhope appeared lor the an us, od.

Ah Doiig was charged by the police with having opium on his premises, and Moi Von Fong with smoking opium.

A pica of guilty was entered in each case.

Constable Skinner gave particulars as to raiding the premises and of finding the opium. The collector of customs produced the opium which was found on die premises.

Ah Dong was fined £SO and Moi You Fong £25, half the maximum amount.
