HORSE FAIRS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held their Annual Autumn Horse Fairs at Whakatane and Te Puke recently, when horses came forward in fully advertised number?. Buyers were present from Auckland, Waikito, Wanganui, Palmerston, Opotiki and Tauranga districts. Owing no doubt to the shortage of feed settlers were anxious to meet the market and although prices were in favour of purchasers very successful clearances at both sales are reported. The lollowing is a range of prices realised; -Heavy broken draughts, £2B 10s to £B4 10?; heavy unbroken draughts, £26 15s to £33 : medium broken draughts, £24 I0sto£28; medium unbroken S draughts, £tß 15s to £24; good hacks and harness horses, £ld tos i to ; cobs and hacks, £8 10s to jj£ 12 15s; unbroken and broken i ponies, £■’> 10s to £5 ts?.
