The Assembly put through ail stages la bill to abolish proportional representation and substitute single seat electorates, with first past' the post system. The motion by Mr Bavin lo adopt preferential voting at single seat electorates was rejected. The Legislative Council rejected by 28 votes to 25, a Bill to allow women to sit in the Council.
