PROMENADE CONCERT

The Church of England Junior Guild should indeed feel gratified at the success of the promenade concert held on Wednesday last, Mr and Mrs W. J. Baigent very kindly offered their home for the concert, the grounds being very suitable for the arranging of seats, etc. The items were given from the balcony and supper was served from a downstairs room which had an entrance to- the lawn, Those who assisted in a thoroughly enjoyable programme were: Instrumental and vocal, Mr and Mrs N. Ward; Mr and Mrs D. Corrigan, Messrs Suddard Foster, Shearman and Deakin, and Mesdaxnes Christian, Torrance, Meikle, Castles, and Foster; Monologues, Miss Gifford; and Recitations by Major P. Lumley At. the conclusion the Rev ,E. A. McCulcheon, on behalf of the Junior Guild, thanked all who had worked to make the concert so successful. The takings amount to £ll 10/-
