The wool sales closed very firm. Competition was well maintained to the finish. Merinos hardened throughout, the best dosing at fully five per cent, above November. Pieces and faulties were often ten per cent, above November rates. Greasy met with a strong market, closing ten per cent, up; medium and low twenty per cent. Slips were keenly competed for. Finer sorts were ten per cent, and fifteen per cent, dearer ; shabbier ten per cent. Scouredg were in strong Continental demand. . Fine grades were ten per cent, up; others twenty. Lambs sold readily ten per cent, up. , Balclutha brought 3Ud., Offerings of the present Series totalled 75,315 bales Australian and 71,689 New Zealand. There were practically no withdrawals'. The Continent bought about forty per cent. Bradford is quiet and business limited. Prices are very firm. Six-iy-four's brought 62J,d, sixties 55d, fifty-sixes 411 c l, fifties 29d, fortysixes 22d, and forties 20d,
