Auckland, Dec. 20 hThe Nau~ cal Court found that e wreck of i the vessel Kaen was due to a sudden squall and that Captain MacDonald was guilty of an error of judgment in approaching so close to the reef with the little power at his disposal. The court, hqwever, considered that leniency was warranted in view of the exceptional difficulties of loading at the spot and the fact that the captain had no facilities for gaining details of the locality from the charts at his disposal. The captain was ordered to pay £lO towards the c st of the inquiry.
