Melbourne, Feb 13 ■ The Customs Department' is notified from West Australia of the discovery of a solution which *t is claimed will do away with the necessity for refrigerating space for the export- of fruit and potatoes- It is stated that if fruit jsdipped in this solution it will te preserved for long periods without the need of refrigeration. A cargo of apples was feated, and sent as general cargo from Australia and back, the ;«P lasting six weeks. When opened the apples were in per*e« condition. The cost of treatment was one shilling per case.,
