ANZAC DAY.
. Monday next, St. George's Day, is the day set apart by the Government this year to commemorate Anz%c Day, which falls on the 25th. This change hes been made on account of the municipal and other elections falling on the latter date. Last year a combined mennijal service was held in the Town Hall in the evening, and the Mayor has arranged with the various clergymen and uthera connected with local churches to hold a similar service this year. The order of„ seivice is being arranged, and the clergymen and others will meet tbe Mayor at the Council Chambers at 3.30 p.m. to morrow to finally approve of it. Mr C. E. Ridley has convened a meeting of the combined choirs and members of the orchestra for Friday evening at 8.30 at the Wesley Hall. All others who care to assist the cboir are invited to attend the meeting. Mr H. Cruap will conduct the orchestra and choir at the service. It ia par ticularly desired that bs many men aa possible should attend Friday night's meeting in the Wesley Hall to assist the choir, as there is a great scarcity of male voices.
