Tried and Not Found Wanting.
The courage displayed by the woundel Australians will never be forgotten. They were hastily placed on trawlers, lighters and boats and then towed to the ships. In spile of their suffering they cheered the ships from which they sst out ia the mora ing- . ■ „
_Ir Bartlett said he had never seen anything like these wounded Australians in-' war before. Though aUny were shot to bits without hope of recovery their cheers resounded throughout the nis_;ht. You could see in the midst of a mass of suffering humanity arms waving in greeting to the crews of the warships. They were happy because they knsw they had been tried for the-first time aud not found wanting.
